Board Now Requires CPE hours to Reinstate or Activate a License

Board Rules passed during the 2016 legislative session require certificate holders to secure a minimum of 40 hours of CPE credit in order to reinstate or activate a license.

For those certificate holders who desire a license after years of inactivity, the Board now requires the applicant to secure and report a minimum of 40 hours of CPE credit.  For inactive licensees who were ineligible to renew due to CPE non-compliance, the applicant must secure the greater of the number of hours needed for compliance during their last year of licensure or 40 hours. This legislation was enacted to help ensure that the applicant has continued to keep pace with the ever changing tax laws and/or accounting standards for the industry.

For more information regarding this procedure, please review the procedure for Reinstatement and Activation of license.
