The Board of Accountancy's Response to COVID-19

The State of West Virginia is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and its affect in West Virginia.  As you know, the health and safety of all West Virginians are the highest priorities.  Should it become necessary to close State Offices in an attempt to prevent the spread of the virus, Board staff have made arrangements to work remotely from their homes.  On a limited basis, we will be able to answer any questions via email or through the Contact Us form on the Board’s web site.  Board staff will also have the capability to process CPA Exam, licensure and firm applications, as well as Intents-to-sit and CPE Reporting Forms.

If a licensee was scheduled for a live CPE course and the course sponsor has contacted you to let you know that the course will now be given in an online or webinar format (live online), please provide details of the change to the Board office as soon as possible.  (wvboa@wv.gov)

At some point, it may become necessary for Prometric to close its facilities for an unknown period of time.  Prometric states that, “Test center closures are being evaluated on a case-by-case basis with a close eye on specific government actions, including closing local offices, public spaces, and university campuses, along with building closures where the test centers are located. All test center closures will be posted on our website as closure decisions are made. prometric.com/closures.”  The West Virginia Board of Accountancy will continue to monitor these events and keep you apprised via news items on the Board’s web site as information becomes available.

Board staff thanks you for your cooperation, patience and understanding as we all work together to keep everyone safe.
